Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
Departure to Cagliari

Depart Malta 8:15am, arrive Cagliari 9:35 am. Upon arrival your private guide will meet you at the airport and begin a visit of Cagliari, the “City of Sun’’. After a panoramic drive, with some photo stops at Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria and Monte Urpinu, enjoy a walking tour of the historical district of Castello. In the afternoon drive we visit the ancient city of Nora, which was founded in the VIII century B. C. by the Phoenicians. We will see the amazing mosaics, the massive thermal pools and the theatre. On the beach of Nora a small church dedicated to the Saint Patron of Sardinia, Sant ‘Efisio, was built in the XII century. Enjoy a bit of free time to wander and photograph.

Return to Cagliari and transfer to hotel for overnight.

DAY 2
Nuraghe Barumini (Su Nuraxi)-Mount Genagentu-Arzahena

After breakfast departure to visit the beautiful Su Nuraxi di Barumini, which is only nuraghe complex in Sardinia designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, depart to Mount Gennargentu, a large massif in central-southern Sardinia. It includes the highest peaks on the island, such as Punta La Marmora, Monte Spada, Punta Erbas Virdes, Bruncu Spina and Punta Paulinu. The range forms part of the Gennargentu National Park. Enjoy lunch at typical farmhouse eating the famous “porceddu” the roast pig. Early afternoon departure to Arzachena in the north of Sardinia, famous for breathtaking landscapes, beaches of incomparable beauty, hills covered with vineyards and archaeological treasures.

Transfer to hotel for overnight

DAY 3
Arzachena

After breakfast we depart for a full day visit of Nuraghe Losa, Romanzesu in Bitti, and Arzachena, located in the countryside of the Sardinian municipality of Abbasanta. The Nuragic complex Romanzesu is a Nuragic sanctuary village extending over seven hectares and dating back to the Bronze Age, near the source of the Tirso River. It includes the sacred well, connected by a long corridor with stepped rooms to a large stepped amphitheater, huts with an elliptical plan, meeting huts, a sector hut, two megaron temples, a rectangular temple or Heroon, and a large circular labyrinthine structure. Late afternoon departure to Arzachena.

DAY 4
Ozieri - Oristano

After breakfast we depart to Ozieri for a visit of San Michele Grotto. The beautiful Caves of San Michele are caves located south of the town of Ozieri. They owe their name to the ancient presence of a small place of worship dedicated to the archangel Michael.

Free time for Lunch in Ozieri town.

Afternoon departure to Oristano

DAY 5
Oristano – Cagliari-Departure

After breakfast we join a morning walking tour of Oristano’s historic centre (Centro Storico) to see the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, the Piazza Eleonora d’Arborea with its statue, the Torre di Mariano II, and the ancient Hospitalis Sancti Antoni, plus visit the Antiquarium Arborense Museum for Nuragic history. Free time for lunch and browsing. Soak in the authentic Sardinian atmosphere.

After lunch, transfer to Cagliari (approx. 1hr 10m drive). Transfer to the airport for flight FR7049, dep 18:05, arr Malta 19:20
