Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
FLIGHT TO AMMAN - JERASH

Upon arrival to Amman Airport meet and assist by a local guide then transfer to visit Jerash: North of Amman lies the city of Jerash, sometimes referred to as the Pompei of the East. Jerash was part of the Graeco-Roman Decapolis, the league of ten cities bound by strong political, social and commercial interests. It’s one of the best preserved Roman towns outside Italy. Because Jerash has been covered by sand for centuries its colonnaded streets, baths, theatres, plazas and arches remain in exceptional condition. A walk through Jerash is a journey in time.

Afterwards Transfer to the hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2
WADI AL MUJEB & DEAD SEA

After breakfast: Drive to visit Wadi Mujib,  drive to Dead Sea, also called the Salt Sea, The Dead Sea is an endothecia lake located in the Jordan Rift Valley, a geographic feature formed by the Dead Sea Transform (DST). This left lateral-moving transform fault lies along the tectonic plate boundary between the African Plate and the Arabian Plate. It runs between the East Anatolian Fault zone in Türkiye and the northern end of the Red Sea Rift offshore of the southern tip of Sinai. Dead Sea beach, it lies on the western frontier of Jordan and is well-known to be the lowest spot on earth, 400 meters below sea level. The unusually salty and mineral rich water, the rich black mud along the shoreline, the thermal mineral springs are healing both for your body and your soul.

DAY 3
AMMAN CITY TOUR AND WADI RUM

After breakfast, Drive to explore the capital and the largest city of Jordan. It is the country’s political, cultural and commercial centre and one of the well-known cities for thousands of years ago, which was called Rabbat Ammoun, here you will visit the Citadel, the Roman ruins, and the Roman theatre in the most active centre of the city, King Abdullah Mosque (outside visit),

Then, you will have free time to walk in the city or visit the Souq.

After noon we drive to Wadi Rum, dinner and over night in Bedouin Luxury Camp

DAY 4
WADI RUM & AQABA

After breakfast,  drive to Aqaba A Jordanian coastal city situated at the north-eastern tip of the Red Sea. Aqaba is the largest city on the Gulf of Aqaba and Jordan’s only coastal city. It’s dedicated for relaxation, water sports, and winter warmth, Aqaba is warm, sunny and inviting, fringed with palm trees, lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, cooled by a steady northerly breeze, and ringed by mountains that change in colour with the change of the hours.

We drive to Wadi Rum, having sunset Jeep safari for 2 hours. Uniquely shaped massive mountains rise vertically out of the pink desert sand, which separate one dark mass from another in magnificent desert scenery of strange breath-taking beauty, with towering cliffs of weathered stone. The faces of the sheer rock cliffs have been eroded by the wind into faces of men, animals and monsters. Wadi Rum, the valley of the moon according to Lawrence of Arabia; here you will have the opportunity to experience of the Jeep tour 4×4 for 2 hours to explore the most spectacular sites of the area.

DAY 5
SHOUBAK, LITTLE PETRA & PETRA

After breakfast we check out from Wadi Rum and depart to visit Shoubak Castle; known as Montreal Castle, is a 12th-century Crusader fortress built to control trade routes between Egypt and Syria. Perched dramatically on a hilltop, the castle offers sweeping views of the surrounding desert and valleys. Shoubak Castle stands as a powerful reminder of the Crusader and Islamic conflicts that shaped the region, later restored and used by the Ayyubids and Mamluks after the Crusaders’ defeat.

Afterwards drive to Little Petra “Siq Al abrid” ; a smaller archaeological site located about 8 km north of Petra in Jordan. Its name means “the Cold Canyon,” referring to the narrow, shaded gorge that leads into the site.

After your visit drive to Petra for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6
PETRA

After Breakfast, drive to Site to visit the capital of the ancient Nabatean kingdom, Petra. The long-lost city of Petra, carved entirely by man into the rose-red sandstone rocks, puts your imagination to the test. Its a Mystic and glorious place, an eternal tribute to a lost civilization. Petra was the central meeting point of the Nabatean spice routes which originated from the Persian Gulf, Western Arabia and the Red Sea. About two thousand years ago Petra became the capital of the Nabatean Empire. The city was so renowned that one of its kings, Aretas IV, is even mentioned in the Bible. The natural richness of the mountainous area combines in a superb way with the refined culture and massive architecture of the Nabateans, who carved their theatre, temples, faces, tombs, monasteries, houses roads entirely the rose-red sandstone rocks. No wonder UNESCO placed Petra on its World Heritage List one enters Petra by passing the Siq, a deep and narrow gorge, at the end of which all of a sudden dramatically appears the most famous monument in Petra: al-Khazneh or the Treasury. Maybe you will recognize it as the stage of the final sequence of the movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. But the Treasury is just the start. Walking and climbing in Petra hundreds of buildings carved in stone and eroded through the centuries into fabulous multi-coloured walls will be revealed to you.

DAY 7
KERAK - MADABA - MT. NEBO

Breakfast, transfer to visit Madaba located 30 kilometres south-west of the capital Amman. It is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, especially a large Byzantine-era mosaic map of The Holy Land. Madaba, one of the most spectacular churches around the world; ST. George church where you will find the Mosaic Map of Jerusalem painted on the floor of the church.

Proceed to Mount Nebo, the place where Moses buried. You will be lucky if the sky is clear enough; you will have a wonderful view up from the mountain seeing the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Jericho in the other bank of the Jordan River.

Drive to your hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8
RETURN FLIGHT TO MALTA

Unfortunately all great things must come to end.

Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport. End of services.
