Tour Itinerary
At 9.30am check-in for your RyanAir Flight FR 367 to Catania scheduled to depart at 11.25am and arriving at 12.15 local time. A private coach will escort us to the 4* Katane Palace Hotel (or similar) for check in. Free afternoon to familiarise yourselves with the location. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
In the afternoon, we suggest you visit Piazza Duomo, Villa Bellini, Castello Ursino or the Roman Theatre. Via Etnea is a must for shopping or for browsing Baroque Palazzi.
After breakfast, we leave to explore the lovely town of Taormina. Taormina is on a cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea. Besides the ancient Greek theatre, it has many old churches, lively bars, fine restaurants and antique shops. The Santuario Madonna della Rocca is one such church. Located on the slope above the town, it commands an impressive view of the coast and Mount Etna to the south, and is accessible on foot via the staired path, Salita Castello. Lunch on included in this excursion.
In the afternoon, we head off to Acireale where we can enjoy the Carnival. The Carnival of Acireale, one of the most spectacular in Italy, returns in 2026 with a program full of parades, music, art and fun. The famous allegorical floats in papier-mâché and flowers, masks and live shows will transform the streets of the historic centre into a colourful and unforgettable stage. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
After breakfast, we will set off to visit the amazing Siracusa and Ortygia. After breakfast in hotel departure to Syracuse to visit the most beautiful and greatest Greek colony in Sicily and World Heritage Site! The visit will start with the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, with its Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise and the Ear of Dionysius.
Proceeding on and visit of the splendid Ortygia, a small island which is the historical centre of Syracuse. In Ortygia you will admire the beautiful Cathedral which dominates the square with its authoritative presence. The façade is a powerful Sicilian-Baroque composition, but it gives no hint that this building was once a Doric temple! Stop to enjoy a lunch in a local restaurant. Walking along the nice streets of the centre, you will reach a wide terrace on the waterfront surrounding the famous Arethusa’s Fountain, one of the most famous fresh-water sources of the Greek world. Back in Catania for dinner and overnight in hotel. Lunch is included on this excursion.
After breakfast, enjoy a free day for shopping at Sicilia market. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will have some free time to pack and maybe enjoy a gelato or a coffee before we set back to Malta. Transfer from the hotel to Catania airport for Ryan Air Flight FR 368 at 15.30. We will depart from hotel at approximately 12.30pm End of our services.
