WEDNESDAY - DUBLIN, IRELAND

DBL01 – DUBLIN HIGHLIGHTS
Duration: 3.5hrs
Adults €49 Children €35

Enjoy the highlights of Dublin on this panoramic sightseeing tour, whose route will take you past the old Parliament House (now the Bank of Ireland), St. Patrick’s Cathedral Ireland’s largest church and Dublin Castle.

The tour also provides views of the Four Courts, a majestic structure dating back to 1785 and now the home of the Irish Law Courts. You will then pass by Customs House, which was built between 1781-1791 and epitomises the great era of prosperity and elegance that Dublin experienced in the latter half of the 18th century. The tour continues over the River Liffey
via O’Connell Bridge, takes in the splendour of O’Connell Street and then heads for Leinster
House, the stately mansion now housing the two chambers of the Irish Parliament. Originally erected for the Duke of Leinster in 1745, the building oddly features two very different façades: the Kildare Street side resembles a large town house, whereas the rear, looking on to Merrion Square, is styled in the manner of a country mansion complete with sweeping lawns.

Please note: all the sites will be visited from outside. Wheelchair users must be accompanied
by a paying helper to provide assistance with getting on and off the coach; wheelchairs must be
collapsible/foldable since the coach has neither a ramp nor a lift. Wheelchair users wishing to take part in this are requested to contact the Shore Excursions’ Desk promptly once they are on board so that arrangements can be made.

THURSDAY - CORK, IRELAND

ORK03 – CORK & THE ENGLISH MARKET
Duration: 4hrs
Adults €72 Children €55

This panoramic sightseeing tour will take you to Cork, which is situated on the River Lee and is
Ireland’s second-largest city. Fondly regarded as the “real capital of Ireland” by the locals, Cork has become the modern-day shopping and commercial centre of the south. The tour includes photo stops at St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral, the old Courthouse, the City Hall and the renowned Bells of Shandon in the clock tower of St. Anne’s Church. Continuing on foot to the very heart of the city, you will then reach the beautiful indoor English Market, which dates back to 1788 and is famed for its fabulous selection of traditional Cork specialities as well as fresh meat, fruit and vegetables. Do not miss this opportunity to soak up the historic feel of the market and indulge in a truly unique shopping experience. The tour concludes with some free time to spend in
town before you return to the port.

Please note: wheelchair users must be accompanied by a paying helper to provide assistance with getting on and off the coach; wheelchairs must be collapsible/foldable since the coach has neither a ramp nor a lift. Wheelchair users wishing to take part in this are requested to contact the Shore Excursions’ Desk promptly once they are on board so that arrangements can be made.

FRIDAY - GREENOCK, UNITED KINGDOM

GRK09 – STUNNING LOCH LOMOND: CRUISE & SHOPPING
Duration: 4hrs
Adults €62 Children €45

Only a short coach ride from the pier in Greenock will see you reach Scotland’s most famous lake, the scenic centrepiece of the National Park and the largest body of freshwater in the whole of the U.K.: Loch Lomond. After leaving the coach and boarding a pleasure boat at the loch, you can look forward to a relaxing 1-hour cruise with a whole host of amazing views for you to enjoy. As you cruise, you will pass by six of Scotland’s most elegant Victorian stately homes, built by rich Glaswegian merchants on the banks of the loch, and the isle of Inchmurrin, the largest of 60 isles in Loch Lomond and home to the ruins of a 7th-century monastery and Lennox
Castle. Nowadays, no more than ten residents and a few farm animals inhabit the isle. Following the cruise, the next leg of the tour will take you to Balloch, situated a little north of Dumbarton, for a quality shopping experience. With a luxury outlet of Jenners, a well-known Edinburgh department store, plus shops of other well-known brands, local jewellery and arts & crafts to browse, you can shop to your heart’s content and maybe pick up a special
souvenir or two. Your return trip to Greenock will take you via Dumbarton, site of the famous
fortifications on Dumbarton Rock.

Please note: wheelchair users must be accompanied by a paying helper to provide assistance with getting on and off the coach; wheelchairs must be collapsible/foldable since the coach has neither a ramp nor a lift. Wheelchair users wishing to take part in this are requested to contact the Shore Excursions’ Desk promptly once they are on board so that arrangements can be made

SATURDAY - BELFAST, UNITED KINGDOM

BEL05 – THE QUEEN OF THE GLENS IN COUNTY ANTRIM
Duration: 4.5hrs / Snack included
Adults €52 Children €39

After boarding a coach at the pier, you will first head north of Belfast along the lovely coastline of Northern Ireland’s County Antrim. As you make your way to the Glenariff Forest Park located in  the beautiful “Queen of the Glens” the winding road dips and turns, affording arresting views of the Irish Sea, the upper moorland and then of small villages at sea level.

After rounding Garron Point, the route takes you inland to the Forest Park itself, which is mainly given over to woodland, but also includes several small lakes, recreation areas and
open spaces. Thanks to the lovely Rivers Inver and Glenariff that run through the park, you can also expect to see tumbling waterfalls, tranquil pools and white-water rapids gushing through rocky gorges.

A chance to enjoy further splendid views of the Glen then follows as you have tea or coffee with
scones, cream and jam at the Glenariff Tea House, after which a route through rolling countryside via Ballymena will return you to the ship.

MONDAY - KIRKWALL, UNITED KINDGROM

KWL09 – ISLAND TOUR
Duration: 2.5hrs
Adults €52 Children €39

This scenic drive takes us on leisurely exploration of Orkney, from fascinating First World War and Second World War relics on the South Isles to remarkable West Mainland World Heritage. Discover an island haven abounding with breathtaking vistas, captivating history and astonishing ancient wonders. Departing quayside Kirkwall we travel through the pastoral landscape of Orkney’s East Mainland and along the southeast shore of historic Scapa Flow, the chief base of the British naval fleet in World War I and World War II. We cross the first
of the four Churchill Barriers, causeways built during World War II to protect the eastern approaches of Scapa Flow and to connect the South Isles to the Orkney Mainland. On the tiny island of Lamb Holm, we visit the beautifully hand-painted Italian Chapel. Built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II, the Chapel has been preserved as a symbol of peace and hope in times of strife, and Orkney’s enduring friendship with the soldiers from Italy. We
continue to the West Mainland and into the Heart of Neolithic Orkney designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, passing by the imposing Standing Stones of Stenness. Dating back more than 5.000 years, this archaeological treasure is one of the earliest stone circles in Britain.

We then follow the northwest coastline of historic Scapa Flow while our guide regales us with dramatic wartime stories which make this one of the best known natural harbours in the world. Finally, we return to our ship at Kirkwall.

Please note: this tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties or using a wheelchair.

Here you will visit Scalloway Castle, built in 1600 by the “tyrant” Earl Patrick Stewart. Free time to walk along Main Street and admire the waterfront before leaving the town and journeying on through the Tingwall Valley and through peat and heather covered landscapes and Shetland’s largest plantation of trees. En route back to Lerwick, take the opportunity to capture
some of the views of the many islands that make up the Shetland archipelago.
