Ship berths at Southampton, United Kingdom at 8AM. We are  suggesting this excursion

Duration: full day, lunch not included

Your trip to the UK’s vibrant capital begins with a 2.5-hour coach transfer to the city, where you will be dropped off in the centre close to the major shopping areas and main attractions. Take a spin on the London Eye, visit Oxford Street, explore Hyde Park, check out Covent Garden market, go cultural at London’s museums or art galleries or simply find a typical London pub and have yourself a good old British pint –the list of things to do is endless in this marvellous city. Your tour ends with your return to Southampton in the afternoon.

Ship berths at Le Havre, France at 7.00AM. Today we suggest an excursion

Duration: approx. 7.5 hours, lunch not included

An enjoyable drive will take you to the tiny village of Honfleur, a sleepy settlement known for its picturesque harbour and beautifully preserved old buildings with slate-covered frontages. A favourite motif of many painters, Honfleur is known to have particularly inspired Gustave Courbet, Claude Monet, Eugène Boudin and Johan Jongkind,
collectively referred to as the Honfleur school. You will have enough time to spend in this delightful village on your own. Enjoy the old-fashioned feel of the narrow streets lined with timber-framed houses and be sure to visit Sainte-Catherine Church, France’s largest church made entirely of wood. The church also features a bell tower that is separate from the main building. Choose one of the many harbour-front restaurants for a delicious and scenic lunchtime experience. The afternoon leg of the tour will take you to the stylish resort of Deauville, which is famed as the venue of an annual international film festival to promote American cinematography and is generally regarded as the “queen of the Norman beaches”. It is certainly one of the most prestigious seaside destinations in the whole of France and you will have plenty of time to explore the old-fashioned streets of this lovely place and savour its special ambience at your leisure. Apart from a racecourse, harbour, marina and grand casino, Deauville also has sandy beaches for you to enjoy. The tour concludes with your return to the ship.

Please note: guests using a wheelchair are advised that they must be accompanied by a paying helper to provide assistance with getting on and off the coach and that wheelchairs must be collapsible/foldable since the coach has neither a ramp nor a lift. Limited number of guides in languages other than French. Should a tour guide for your language be unavailable, the tour will be in French only.

The ship leaves the port of Le Havre at 20.00hrs.

Day at sea for relaxation and to enjoy the activities on board.

The ship enters the Port of La Coruña in Spain at 9AM. Our suggested excursion for this day is

Duration: approx. 5 hours

A pleasant 1.5-hour coach ride will take you to the historical city of Santiago de Compostela, one of Spain’s most important religious centres. The city’s splendid cathedral and old quarter are both listed as UNESCO world heritage sites. You will have an opportunity to amble through the streets, narrow alleys and tiny squares before continuing on foot to the Plaza do Obradoiro, which is situated at the heart of the city and was named after the stonemason’s workshop that was established there while the cathedral was being built. An external viewing of the cathedral, an eclectic blend of various architectural styles including Baroque, gives you an opportunity to take some photos before proceeding with an inside visit of the site. Return to the port.

Please note: long walking involved on uneven ground with steps so this tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulties, using a wheelchair or with heart problems. Conservative attire recommended for visiting religious sites.

The ship leaves the port at 5PM.

The ship enters the port of Bilbao, Spain at 9AM. Our suggested excursion for today is

Duration: approx. 4 hours

Bilbao is over 700 years old and was founded by the nobleman D. Diego López de Haro. You will begin the tour with a panoramic view of the city from the top of Mount Artxanda. You will enjoy a scenic drive through the city, passing the famous Guggenheim museum  before reaching the Old Quarter, the most important area of the city. Enjoy free  Time walking through the pedestrian area of the city: shop for bargains or relax with a meal, sampling local wine and tapas (not included). You will leave Bilbao for a short drive to Getxo (pronounced Getcho) an elegant residential marina set on the bank of the Nervion River with large palaces and mansions. You can enjoy a panoramic driving tour of the city before proceeding to Hanging Bridge, or “Bizkaia Bridge” for a photo stop. The Bridge joins the riverbanks at Portugalete and Las Arenas, allowing for free-flowing maritime traffic. Similar in style to the Eiffel Tower, due to its black iron structure, this amazing feat of engineering is now over 100 years old and is the oldest transporter bridge in the world. Return to pier.

Please note: limited number of guides in languages other than Spanish. Should a tour guide for your language be unavailable, the tour will be provided in Spanish only.

The ship leaves the port at 6PM.

Today the ship will call at Le-Verdonsur-Mer in France at 8AM. Our suggested excursion for today is

Duration: 8.5 hours, lunch not included

France’s southern Bordeaux region is famed for producing some of the world’s best wines and this tour will take you to one of the châteaux on the Médoc Peninsula for an immersive lesson in the art of viticulture. You’ll get to learn about the grapes, savour such wines as Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, and perhaps buy a bottle of your personal favourite. Next up is Bordeaux, whose historical district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an outstanding example of 18th century architecture. Your city tour will take you to the vast Place des Quinconces, one of the largest in Europe, to see the Girondins Column. This monument honours Girondists killed during the Reign of Terror after the French Revolution. Soak up the civic splendour as you head for lunch at Dubern, a restaurant that has been “an institution” since the 1890s. After lunch, you can browse the shops along the pedestrian only Rue Sainte-Catherine on your own. Then relax on the return drive and enjoy more glorious views of the medieval hamlets, châteaux and vineyards that dot the Bordeaux landscape.

Please note: the tour is considered to be unsuitable for guests of limited mobility or using a wheelchair. Guests must be at least 18 years of age to be served alcohol.

Day At sea

The ship will call at Amsterdam, Netherlands at 2PM. We suggest an excursion

Duration: approx. 4 hours

Use the day to visit what is perhaps one of the world’s most poignant sights – the Anne Frank Museum, where the courageous young diarist hid with her family from Nazi persecution. Before the museum visit, you will leave the port for a tour through old and new Amsterdam, viewing the famous treelined canals and soaking up the multi-cultural, cosmopolitan atmosphere. You will tour the famous Anne Frank Museum and see the movable bookcase that concealed the annex where the Franks hid for over two years. You will learn more about the history of this remarkable girl while visiting the museum. Back outside, you can appreciate the scenic side of this attractive city with a visit to the popular flower market. Free time is scheduled for strolling Jordaan district, established in the early 17th century as “Het Nieuwe Werck” or The New Work.
