You will meet your Tour leader at Malta International Airport at 2.30pm to check-in for your direct Air Malta flight to Casablanca leaving at 4.30pm, with an estimated arrival time at 6.55pm. On arrival, you will board your private transport to transfer you to the Kenzi Basma 4* Hotel. Check-in and dinner served at the hotel.
After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco and its largest city. You will begin with a guided visit of the famous Hassan II Mosque, the landmark of the city with the tallest minaret in the world at 210 metres. You will stop next at Mohammed V Square in the city centre and even visit the Habous Quarter, one of the oldest areas in Casablanca. The district was built by the French in the 1930s as an attempted solution to the ongoing housing shortage. It marries the best of traditional Moroccan architecture with modern facilities and French ideals – even the mosque fronts onto a strip of grassy lawn just like a village church.
After lunch at a local authentic restaurant, you will visit the Morocco Mall, the second-largest shopping centre in Africa with 200 000m² of floor space. Complete your city tour of Casablanca with an afternoon promenade at Ain Diab Corniche, which is one of the city’s most fashionable districts. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast you will head out for a full day trip to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of the Imperial Cities. You will visit the Kasbah of the Oudayas. This Kasbah was constructed during the realm of the Almohads dynasty (12th century). You will then stop at Mohammed V Mausoleum, which is home to the tombs of the current king’s father and grandfather. Your last stop in Rabat will be the Hassan Tower, which is a minaret built in 1195.
Lunch at a local authentic restaurant in Rabat and your will return to the hotel in Casablanca. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.
After breakfast you will check-out of from the hotel in Casablanca and make your way to Marrakech, “Paris of the Sahara” as Winston Churchill once described it. Check in at the 3* Hotel Racine and you will proceed for lunch at a local restaurant.
For today, enjoy an evening tour, accompanied by your Hamilton Travel tour leader and your local English speaking local guide to the world famous Jema El Fna Square where you will enjoy amazing performances of traditional activities by storytellers, snake charmers and peddlers of traditional medicine. Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Marrakech.
After breakfast, you will proceed to a guided city tour of Marrakech. You will first stop at the Koutoubia Mosque, which is an old monument built under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184 to 1199). This monument inspired other buildings such as the Giralda in Seville in Spain and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. You will proceed to visit the Bahia Palace. This palace was built in the late 19th century and was intended to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan style. You next stop will be at the Saadian tombs, which is a site that dates back to the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will have the chance to spend the afternoon wandering through the bustling souks and bazaars in the old medina. Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Marrakech.
After breakfast, you will head out to visit the Atlas Mountains. The drive takes you to Ourika Valley, a wonderful Berber village nestled high in the Atlas Mountains. A trip to the Ourika is an opportunity for you to discover the breath-taking views of Berber villages and some amazing landscapes. One is astonished by the hard labour undertaken by the Berber populations of the area which did not hesitate to hoist with hillside materials necessary to the construction of small houses fixed on the mountainside or to work the terraces necessary to agriculture in a harsh environment. Ourika’s atmosphere and unique decor is sure to impress! Lunch at a local restaurant and you will return back to Marrakech later in the afternoon. Dinner at the hotel and overnight.
After breakfast your final full day in Morocco will be enjoying a full day trip to Agadir. Visit Souk El Had, a famous local market attended by all the inhabitants of the city of Agadir. This is the main place of supply of Agadir residents for food, clothing, and goods. Souk El Had is huge and spreads over 6 hectares selling interesting merchandise and specializing in spices. You will stop at the Valley of the birds 2.5 hectares of the valley is a home to exotic species such as magnolia, calistemon the parkinsonia. You will continue with the beachside promenade to the trendy Marina. There you will discover the various types of fishing boats. The new Marina d’Agadir is lined with boutique shops, restaurants and apartments. You will even get the chance to visit the port of Agadir, which is one of the most important ports in Morocco. After lunch at a local restaurant in Agadir, you will continue your journey to visit the Kasbah Agadir Oufla. This Kasbah is a fortress overlooking the city and the beach at a height of 236 meters. The ocean looks splendid from a height of 240m cliff overlooking the city and the port. Return to your hotel in Marrakech for dinner and overnight
After breakfast you will check out of your hotel. Enjoy the morning at leisure in Marrakech. At around 2.00pm you will proceed back to Casablanca Airport to check-in for your direct Air Malta flight departing at 7.55pm. The flight is estimated to arrive back in Malta at around 11.55pm
