You will meet with your tour leader at Malta International Airport at 3PM to check‑in for your direct Air Malta flight to Lourdes leaving at 5.00PM. The flight is expected to arrive at Lourdes International Airport at around 7:25PM. Upon arrival the coach will transfer you to Hotel Ariane 3* for check‑in. Dinner at the hotel.
Early breakfast followed by a visit to the Baths. After this visit, there will be a familiarisation tour with the Tour Leader. Lunch at the hotel and you will proceed to visit some places of interest in Lourdes, including the ‘Boly Windmill’ and ‘Le Cachot’. Boly Mill is the place where the world famous Bernadette Soubirous was born and Le Cachot is where Bernardette used to live. You will finish this day by visiting the Parish Church where St Bernadette was baptised. Return to the hotel for dinner. This tour is done on foot and involves long walking distances.
After breakfast, you can join an optional excursion to Biarritz followed by Saint‑Jean‑de‑Luz. Biarritz, an elegant seaside town on southwestern France’s Basque coast, has been a popular resort since European royalty began visiting in the 1800s. Here, one can see the summer residence of Napoleon Bonaparte, the ‘Grand Plage’, together with Biarritz Lighthouse, which is found 73 metres above sea level. Although Saint‑Jean‑de‑Luz is located a mere 20 minutes away from Biarritz and both are famous beach resorts, the atmosphere in Saint‑Jean‑de‑Luz is completely different, somehow more relaxed. It is busy but not overcrowded, beautiful but not overly luxurious. There are large beautiful Basque houses that form the old part of the town. Many of the buildings date back to the 17th century, a time when Saint‑Jean‑de‑Luz was one of the most important fishing ports of France. A packed lunch will be provided by the hotel for this excursion. Return to the hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, you can join an optional excursion to ‘Grottes de Bétharram’. The Grottes are a series of French caves located at the border of the Pyrénées‑Atlantiques and Hautes‑Pyrénées departments and of the Nouvelle‑Aquitaine and Occitanie regions. A 2.8 km underground walk allows you to visit the three levels of river‑dug galleries in the limestone mountain. (This excursion involves an approximate time of 1 hour and 20 minutes walking including 250 steps. Please note that once you start this excursion you cannot stop or go back). Return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, you can join an optional excursion to visit Bartrès together with the Lake of Lourdes. Bartrès is a little commune in the Hautes‑Pyrénées department in southwestern France. The village is famous for its association with St Bernadette Soubirous stay. Lake of Lourdes is a glacial lake 3 km from the town centre (towards Pau via Soumoulou). You will stop there for a short break, where one can enjoy the scenery and take some pictures. You will then proceed for some shopping at the Meridien Shopping Arcade. Return to the hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, you can join an optional excursion to Pont D’espagne. Pont d’Espagne is a stone‑built bridge that spans the Gave de Marcadau at the point where it meets the Gave de Gaube, near one of its sources high in the French Pyrenees. The Pont d’Espagne is at an altitude of appoximately 1500m. You will make a stop in Cauterets and St.Savin – communes in the Hautes‑Pyrénées department and the region of Occitanie in south‑western France. Return to the hotel for lunch and you will prepare for check‑out. In the afternoon, the coach will take you to Lourdes International Airport to check‑in for your direct Air Malta flight leaving at 8.15PM with estimated arrival time in Malta at 10.30PM.

Every evening at around 9PM the ‘Aux Flambeaux’ procession is celebraterd. Anyone can join this procession with our Spiritual Director: This torchlight procession starts from the Grotto of Apparitions and ends on the esplanade of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. At the head of the procession, a statue of the Virgin is carried by pilgrims. This is the most popular time in Lourdes and the highlight of each day.
