Tuesday 1st August

We will meet at the airport at 4.35 pm for our 6.35 pm Air Malta flight to Birmingham. On our arrival, a coach will take us to our three-star hotel centrally located in Preston – Legacy Preston Hotelwhere rooms will be assigned immediately. 

Wednesday 2nd August

English buffet breakfast will be followed by an optional excursion to Lake Windermere – the largest natural lake in Britain where one can also take a lake cruise (extra). We will also visit Amble Side, Kendal and Grasmere.

Thursday 3rd August

Breakfast, will be followed by an optional excursion to Manchester, where we will stop for a short while at Old Trafford Stadium. After that, we will go to Trafford Centre, a large shopping centre where there will be enough free time for shopping and for a quick meal. We will also visit the centre of Manchester, where one can do some more shopping.

Friday 4th August

After breakfast today ,there will be an optional excursion to Blackpool, where there will be time to explore the Promenade. We will also be visiting Pleasure Beach .

Saturday 5th August

Today’s optional excursion will first take us to the stunningly located town of Keswick in the Lake District, nestled on the shores of Derwentwater. The discovery of black lead at Seathwaite in the 16th century sparked off pencil making which is still the major industry in the town.  The Pencil Museum tells the story of pencil making in Keswick.
We will then proceed to Ullswater regarded by many as the most beautiful of the English lakes. It has been compared to Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. One can also take a boat tour around the lake (extra)

Sunday 6th August

Following breakfast, there will be an optional excursion to the medieval city of Chester, which lies on the River Dee. Chester has a number of medieval buildings, but some of the black-and-white buildings within the city centre are actually Victorian restorations. Chester is one of the best preserved walled cities in Britain.

Monday 7th August

Today there will be an optional excursion to the old town of York, which was built by the Romans some 2,000 years ago. York is renowned for its exquisite architecture, tangle of quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster and wealth of visitor attractions.

Tuesday 8th August

Breakfast. Last minute shopping and sightseeing for this morning. Then a private coach will transfer us back to Birmingham airport, for our flight back to Malta departing at 9.45 pm
