You will meet your Tour Leader at Malta International Airport at 11.00AM to check‑in for your direct Air Malta flight to Milan, Linate Airport leaving at 1PM with estimated arrival time at 2.50PM. Upon arrival, on your way to Brescia, the coach will stop you for a visit to Bergamo (excursion included in the price). Bergamo, also called La Citta’ dei Mille is a city whose Upper Town’s Venetian Walls have been listed among Unesco World Heritage Sites, specifically in the Lombardy region. Its older upper district, called Città Alta, is characterized by cobblestone streets, encircled by Venetian walls and accessible by funicular. It is home to the Duomo di Bergamo ‑ the city cathedral. Also in here, one can find the Romanesque Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and the grand Colleoni Chapel. (Any fees for entrances have to be paid extra and booked at the ticket office). Afterwards, you will proceed to Park Hotel Cà Nöa ‑ 4* in Brescia for check‑in followed by dinner (optional).
After breakfast at the hotel, you can join an optional full day excursion to Venice. The coach will drop you at Tronchetto from where you will catch the ferry to Venice passing through the Giudecca Canal. Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are seperated by canals and linked by bridges. Piazza San Marco is the principal public square of Venice. Today Venice is one of Italy’s most important cities and a supremely romantic travel destination. Return to hotel after the excursion followed by dinner (optional).
After breakfast, you can join an optional excursion to the Dolomites. On the way, the coach will pass through many mountain villages and will make a short stop in the village of Canazei, a traditional ski resort in the heart of the Dolomites. The Dolomites are a mountain range located in North Eastern Italy. The Dolomites are nearly equally shared between the provinces of Belluno, South Tyrol and Trentino. By means of a cable car (extra) one can go up to the mountain for a better panorama. On the way back to the hotel, the coach will pass from Lago di Carezza (Karersee). The Karersee is a lake found near the Dolomites in South Tyrol. Return to the hotel for dinner (optional).
After breakfast, you will check‑out from the hotel in Brescia and the coach will start the journey to Prato which is found in Tuscany. On your way, you will stop for a visit at Desenzano del Garda and Sirmione (included in the price). Desenzano del Garda is a town on the southwestern shore of Lake Garda in the north of Italy. The town is in the region of Lombardy and makes a convenient base for travellers using public transport, as it is on Italy›s rail network. Desenzano is close to (and in the province of) the larger town of Brescia. Desenzano del Garda has some pleasant winding historic streets between the town’s castle on its hill, and the lakeshore below. A busy road runs along the edge of the lake, and on the inland side is a small peaceful harbour, where little boats are moored and swans glide about in front of several comfortable cafe‑bars. You will proceed to Sirmione. Sirmione is one of the most popular holiday resorts on the shores of Lake Garda. The small historic town is located on the tip of a long peninsula protruding from the southern shore of the lake. At the end of the visit you will head towards to the Hotel President 4* in Prato for check‑in. Half Board basis is not available in Prato.
After breakfast, you can join a full day optional excursion to Florence (Firenze). This city is considered a cultural, artistic and architectural gem. Famous for the immense political and economic power it wielded during the rule of the Medici Dynasty, Florence offered the world a stage for great artistic masters such as Michelangelo, Brunelleschi, Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo. Each successive age brought new architecture, art and creativity which are still evident in the streets, the many museums, churches, monuments and even the everyday life of this marvelous city. You can visit the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Baptistry of St Giovanni (entrances extra to be paid at the Ticket Office). You will pass from Piazza della Signoria which is an L‑shaped square in front of the Palazzo Vecchio amongst other places. Return to the hotel after the excursion.
After breakfast, you are invited to join an optional excursion to San Gimignano which is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena Tuscany. Known as the Town of Fine Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture. You will continue the journey to Viareggio, which is known as a seaside resort as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio. Afterwards, you will continue to Pisa. Pisa is a city in Italy’s Tuscany region best known for its iconic leaning tower. The leaning Tower of Pisa is the piazza’s crowning glory. In the piazza one can find the Baptistry which is the largest in Italy (any entrances have to be paid extra at the Ticket office). Return to the hotel after the excursion.
After breakfast, you will check-out from the hotel in Prato. The coach will stop you for a visit in Siena (included in the price) before proceeding to Rome. Siena is likely Italy’s loveliest medieval city and a trip worth making. Siena’s heart, is its central piazza known as Il Campo worldwide for the famous Palio run, a horse race run around the piazza twice every summer. From here the coach will head to Hotel Galles ‑ 3* in Rome. After check‑in, free evening where you could enjoy dinner in a restaurant found in the surroundings. Half Board Basis is not available in Rome.
Breakfast followed by an optional excursion to Rome. Rome is the capital and largest city of Italy. It is the famed city of the Roman Empire. You will pass by The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, The Vatican amongst other places (any entrances have to be paid extra at the Ticket Office). Most of this excursion will be conducted on foot. Return to the hotel in the evening.
Breakfast and check‑out from the hotel. From here you will head to a half day excursion (included in the price) to visit Villa d’Este, Tivoli (Tickets for Villa D’Este extra). Villa d’Este ‑ masterpiece of the Italian garden and included in the UNESCO list of world heritage sites, with the impressive concentration of fountains, caves, water features and hydraulic music is a model repeatedly emulated in the European gardens of Mannerism and baroque. (Entrance tickets for Villa d’Este, Tivoli may rise due to extraordinary exhibitions happening on day of visit and must be paid at the ticket office. Ticket prices: €8 for adults 25yrs+, €4 for EU citizens 18‑25yrs, FREE 0‑17yrs) Late in the afternoon, the coach will head to Fiumicino Airport in Rome, from where you will check‑in for your direct Air Malta flight back to Malta departing at 10.10PM. You will arrive in Malta at around 11:35PM.
